After watching last night's implosion, I've finally figured out what's killing the Red Sox - a lack of rally caps. Sure there were a few mixed into the crowd last night come the 9th inning, but that clearly ain't cutting it.Manny is in a HUGE funk and is back striking out what feels like 3 times a game (it's actually 12 times in 7 games ,27 at-bats)... Dustin Pedroia is beyond en fuego (4-5, 2 2B, 3B, HR, 2 RBI, 3 R last night) but it's being completely wasted by in inept offense... Don;t even ask me about Hansen and Delcarmen... AND LUGO CAN'T EVEN RUN THE BASES RIGHT!!!
Seriously Julio, it was Ellsbury, not Casey, running to first. You don't need to tackle the short stop. Congratulations, you're officially useless.
Starting tonight, as the boys head into the Bronx while in the biggest funk of 2008, I propose that Red Sox Nation don their Red Sox caps inside out right off the bat - hell flip it around right now and get it nice and broken in.
Bottom Line: The Sox have now lost 4 of their last 5 by one run (the other was by 2 runs). They've blown leads and their rallies have come up short. With the power of a Nation full of rally caps, maybe we can turn the tide here... I mean it can't hurt right?
ps. Game time: 3 hours, 55 minutes... Thanks Daisuke.
pps. That ain't me in the photo, but isn't it amazing that you can find a photo of a Red Sox rally cap in 3 seconds on Google...? Ain't technology grand?
