Sox v O's Preview

The Sox will look for Josh Beckett (4-2, 3.70 ERA) to stop the bleeding tonight as hey face Jeremy Guthrie (1-3, 4.32) and the Baltimore Orioles in Camden Yards tonight.

Quick Hits

Baltimore lost 6 of their first 7 games in May, but took 3 of 4 from the Royals over the weekend. They're 10-6 at home this year.

Nick Markakis is 6-17 (.353) with a 2B, HR and 2 RBI against Beckett. Amazingly, he also leads the O's with a .267 BA... All but two of the Red Sox have a better BA (Varitek - .252 and Ortiz - .240).

Josh Beckett has won all four of his career starts at Camden Yards, throwing at least seven innings and allowing two or fewer runs each time.

Manny hit #498 last night, but he hasn’t homered off Guthrie in seven career at-bats, and he has only three home runs in his last 29 games at Camden Yards.

JD Drew is riding a 7 game hitting streak brining his BA to .301... He's also 5 for his last 9 with 2 doubles and an RBI.

Julio Lugo continues to be day-to-day because of the mild concussion he suffered in Friday's game against the Twins. The shortstop rode a stationary bike Sunday, and worked out a little bit yesterday. He was scheduled for baseball activities yesterday. "The thing with the head is, usually when you start doing activities is when you see some problems," Francona said. "He seems OK so far. He's tolerating what he's doing."
