Manny Ramirez hits #499 - Video

Manny Ramirez is finally heating up. Manny is 5 for his last 10 (.500) with a home run, 5 RBI, 2 runs and 2 walks.

Home run #499 was an opposite field blast over the right field wall - a good sign that Manny is going with the pitches he is give, rather than trying to pull the ball. He's also cut down on the strikeouts, fanning just once in his last 14 at-bats.

Tonight's he faces Erik Bedard. He's just 4 for 20 (.200) against the hard throwing lefty, but Manny is a .371 lifetime hitter against southpaws... and if this is the beginning of a hot streak... Bedard could be the guy that gives up #500...

I hope he hits it tonight because I was supposed to go to the Sat/Sun games in Baltimore. I'd hate for him to hit it then because I'd have to go around the rest of my life saying "I was THIS CLOSE to going to the game Manny hit # 500 at."

I already have to bare the burden of saying "I could have had free tickets to Jon Lester's no-hitter but I had a belly ache and didn't feel like going to work that day so I couldn't accept the tickets."

DUMB DUMB DUMB.

It could be worse, at least you didn't have to sit through the last 2 games of the Oakland Series.
