Papelbon on Japan: "It was pretty bad, to be totally honest."

So the blogosphere is a buzz about this Papelbon interview. The Fox Sports guys introduce him as "one of the most intersting and fun guys to talk to in all of sports," but some feel that his willingness to speak his mind with the media is a problem.

Bottom Line: It's no secret that most Red Sox and Athletics players were unhappy about this Japan trip, but they did their best to keep their mouths shut because MLB asked them to... but we all knew Paps would crack eventually, right?

It took exactly 1 minute (check the tape) for him to cave after attempting to bullshit us with talk of rice and traditional Japanese dinners with Oki-Doki...

"It was pretty bad, to be totally honest," he said in the following video. "I'm just going to be blatantly honest here. It was a pretty bad trip."

My favorite part is when he recalls playing the "Seibu Lions" (Dice-K's old team) and the Giants, when the Red Sox actually played the Hanshin Tigers and Giants... Lions, Tigers, close enough...

Dan from Red Sox Monster has the video. Tell us what you think: Is Pap out of line here or does this interview make you love him even more?

ps. Does anyone kno where I can get some beef diaphragm?

Wow, I hadn't seen this before. I love Papelbon, but stop the bitching, man. If they were told to shut up about it, then yeah I think he should of kept his mouth shut! I didn't see the point in going to Japan in the first place! Go Sox!
