Game 15: Tek gives Sox another comeback win

The Red Sox pulled out another close one in Cleveland last night. It took a pinch hit home run for Jason Vartiek and a save from Hideki Okajima, but the Red Sox pulled it off and broke the hearts of Indians fans all over again.

BL Hero of the game... Jason Varitek... although Yuke's 2-4, R, RBI, BB night was also in consideration.

Notes: Julio Lugo went 3-4 and is now batting .280 on the year, but with the bases loaded in the 8th and the Sox trailing, he did what we've come to expect from "Waluigi" - hit into a rally killing double play... oh, and he made another error...

Pedroia went 3-5 and is now batting .311... at this time last year he was batting .222 with 6 singles to his name...

Jed Lowrie's first ML hit was a 2-run single that gave the Red Sox he 3-2 lead in the 7th. He went 1-4 with the RBI on the night and played solid defense at third base.

Bottom Line: I didn't expect the Sox do anything other than split this road trip, but they're on there way to making me look like a genius... see Prediction on right.
