Matsuzaka talks about the learning curve for playing the MLB versus Japan:
"But what happened last year was I couldn't time it as well, so I just felt like the fatigue just dragged on gradually all the way through September so I wasn't able to readjust. But for me I felt like it was a little bit off even from the beginning of spring training."
Also, if you’ve always wanted to step up to the plate in Fenway, the next best option will be available this year at Game On!, where you can take some hacks in the visitor’s batting cage.
Over at the Herald Tony Massarotti wonders when Terry Francona will get a new deal.
In other news, the Bruins will look to hold onto their No. 8 seed in the East as they square off against the Carolina Hurricanes (10th, 58) tonight. The ‘Canes are 2-0 against the B’s winning both games by a goal (3-4, 1-0).
Zedeno Chara was not at practice on Monday, apparently nursing a sore leg due to a hit he took on Saturday. Claude Julien hopes Chara will be ready for tonight's game.
Meanwhile, in Indiana, the Celtics will face the 21-30 Pacers. KG will be out again, but the C’s are 5-2 in his absence.
A quick note about the C’s. I saw a stat flash on the screen during the win over the Spurs: The Celtics are a league best 39-9, not because of their offense (99.5 PPG, 11th) but because they are the best defensive team in the league:
Opp. FG % -- .421 (1st)
Opp. 3-pt. % -- .317 (1st)
Opp. Reb. -- 38.4 (1st)
PPGA – 89 (1st)

I think the Red Sox made a great move here. Its about time they got this deal done. This morning on WEEI’s Dale & Holley, they also expressed their appriciation towards the Red Sox organization in signing Tito. Later in the show, they had Tito LIVE on air to talk about the Sox workouts and his extension. His contract is though 2011 with a club option for 2012-2013. He’s said to make between $3-$3.5 Mil. Tito’s happy to have this over with and excited to be here for the long run. Side Note: Bruce Hurst is now part of the Sox Organization once again as a Player Developmental Insructor.
